About Josh Proulx

Joshua R. Proulx, owner and photographer is also the Director of Alumni Engagement for the UConn Foundation in the Office of Alumni Relations. Josh is a 15 year veteran of the higher education and political industries with stints in Residential Life, and Career Services with a focus on international internship and job placements. In addition, Josh served as a member of the Social Sciences faculty at Johnson & Wales University for 6 years where he taught various courses in Political Science, Sociology and Leadership Studies.

Josh has also held positions with the Robert Kennedy Center for Human Rights in Washington, DC where he worked on various peace keeping projects including Liberian independence assistance, exchange programs with Turkish Kurdish lawyers and American universities for enrollment in Masters of Law Programs. Other positions Josh has held include as International Development Consultant for the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie (National Pastry School of France) which is owned and operated by world famous and 21 Michelin star chef, Alain Ducasse in Yssingeux, France. Josh’s main responsibilities were to develop academic partnerships and student & chef admissions for North America, the Caribbean, the UK & Ireland, as well as Southeast Asia.

Josh has been with the UConn Alumni Relations program since 2013 where he first held the position as Director of the Husky Alumni Network and was responsible for Alumni Career Services and Coaching, Mentorship programs, Economic Development, startup initiatives, as well as Legislative Grassroots Advocacy. His current role of Director of Alumni Engagement finds Josh traveling the continental United States engaging alumni of the University of Connecticut in meaningful programs and events, from world renowned faculty panels and discussions, game  to receptions with the university president as well as distinguished alumni and pro-sports athletes.

Josh also opened his own photography business in 2010 which specializes in weddings, portraits and landscape photography, Josh Proulx Photography.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut in French and Political Science, a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts. Certificates of Language specialization from Université Laval in Quebec City, as well as the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Josh lives in Brooklyn, Connecticut with his wife Kim '03, '05 and their daughter Lexi.
